Hey guys, whats going on with the Luthiers auctions? Hardly any stuff on there!

We all had a great time with the swap meet I thought there would be a lot more going on after the auctions started to take place.

Brock and Lance spent a huge amount of time to put it together and probably a considerable financial investment...

LETS SELL SOME STUFF!!! (and buy!)

What do you guys think??

The auction gets a huge endorsement from me. I have made two buys on the auction so far, and in both cases I ended up with great deals.

Hail the Luthier's Auction!

There is a set of Shaller tuners there but not showing up and I also put up two buffing compound bars, A Caswell medium and fine. I will pm Lance and Brock....

At least I tried! I paid the penny for each auction!

It's just TOO darn expensive... . I had stuff listed and they sold!. I think it's a great idea/place! I also think that the few penny entrance fee becomes a nusance when the item doesn't sell and you want to re-list or change the advt(ya know...going thru pay pal and charging your check book for a few pennies is a bit frivolous). Lance is it possible to up the auto re-list more than 2 times? I realize in the future this may not be practical, but for now it might help the site keep listings around a little longer. Also, I don't understand why all the sponsers aren't putting up sales and other "clearance" items up. Maybe a quick email to them asking for their participation, might help stimulate some response? Maybe a special Christmas/Channuka Auction ( it's almost that time again...)for Sponsors to boost sales? (I was going to include Muslims but all the paper work with A.T.F. would be overwhelming. )

Shane, the tuners are there if you click on the tuners button but does not show otherwise!

A little glitch for Brock to take care!

Shane, ill look into why your item didn't list, It shows as a refund in the admin section, is it possible there was a problem with completing the listing?

Dave, I could set it to free, but since we are new at this, I wanted to leave it at one penny in order to get a feel for the inner workings of the software and how it all works together. For you though, ill bump the listing fees up

We really do appreciate anyone that does use the LuthiersAuctions, honestly I am perplexed that its not being use more, since it meets a need that was being asked for here at the OLF, that is a classified section or a place to sell stuff that we no longer use or need or have to much of Even our sponsors could make good use of it.

I hope its just slow catching on. It certainly wasn't cheap, and its not cheap to maintain.

Ya I see that, and the buffing compounds are not there but they have been claimed anyway by a good buddy of mine .

Anyway, if the glitches get figured out then the auction may just be a bit of fun! Bidding is hot and heavy on the tuners!

Also, IF you are participating at the Luthiers Auctions, don't forget to leave Feedback! That is very important.

Lance, all I meant was that the 7 cents (that's what I was being charged) was a silly step as far as re-listing goes...if you up'd the re-listing times to say 5 or more...the auctions would probably have re-listed more and therefore the site wouldn't look empty. It is a bit time "tedious" to have to go thru the whole paypal thing each time you want to put an ad back up since it is really FREE. I'm not knocking anything...just suggesting a way to keep vendors on the site for now...I realize once it goes "live" the fee structure will be much higher.

By the way...the local Long Horn Steakhouse (where I frequent often) calls it the "dave" button on the register...just hit the "dave" button and I pay twice as much for everything!

Did I do something wrong that those tuners do not show up? If so, what and how do I adjust that once the item has been entered, and for the next time? Maybe a bit of blurb at the beginning of the site for us that are intellectually impaired so that we can follow how to get the goods up. I thought the process was actually fairly straight forward and was warned to correct a couple of things before it was uploaded, but I guess I still missed something!

Shane, I had the same problem. The item didn't list and I found .06 paypal credit. I let Lance know and re-listed it OK. I noticed some items not showing up in the auction also. No particular pattern, but if an item ain't there it ain't gonna get bid on. I sold very well and will be back with more items shortly, but have been on vacation in Ohio and a big bunch of irons in the fire at the moment.

It's a big pain to go thru the payment protocol for every item listed at the same time. It would be an improvement to have a single "end of session" payment so several items could be listed then all items log on.

I know I'll be listing some things sometime soon. I'm not planning on
building a ton of instruments, so I'll be adding some "used once"
purchases.
